ECOMONIC UPLIFTMENT PROJECT
POST SEMINAR REPORT 2018
‘Each one of us can make a difference. Together we make change’.-Barbara Mikulski
Four months after Women Empowerment seminar, which was held in April 2018 at the Bilal Hall Mombasa, the Mission was able to conduct subsequent meet-ups in the centers to monitor the groups and see whether the groups were making use of the trainings taught amid the course.
Some of the activities and lecturers carried out in the workshop were: Religious Education, Health care, Microfinance, importance of education to a girl child, cooking of various food items which was facilitated by the Fatimiyah Creative Committee, making of Door mats and Hair oil.
First follow-up was done in Sukaina Women Group, Burani. Members of the group organized a session to teach others on what they learnt from the workshop. Ladies showed the rest of the group how to make mats.
Members that participated in the workshop have so far conducted all the theoretical sessions taught. These were well explained with reference to the notes that were written and handed over to participants during the seminar.
Two Ladies from Bilal Nakuru were also invited to take part in the workshop. After acquiring all the skills learnt from the workshop they organized to meet up with all the members in order to pass the knowledge they attained. Some of the things they practiced were the cooking session where members managed to cook all the items taught during the Seminar.
Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya would like to thank all those involved in making a smooth running of these activities.
