Holy Ramadhan Relief distribution report 2011
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w) said "O people! Iftar to a fasting person during this month will be like one who has freed a slave and his past sins will be forgiven."
As people around the world commence the holy month of Ramadhan, Muslims in the rural parts of Kenya, commence this month with grave difficulties as the situation in parts of Kenya worsen. This has been termed as the worst drought in the past fifty years.
The Mission was able to distribute Iftar / Sehri to:
17 Masjids in the rural areas,
4 secondary schools,
2 other madaris,
235 families received rations in the urban areas and
2,200 families in rural areas.
Ration supplied: Maize Meal, Wheat Flour, Sugar, Rice, Cooking Oil, Yeast, Beans, Tea leaves and Dates.
This kind gesture has made it possible not only to bring a smile on the faces of the most deserving, it has also enabled them somewhat combat effects of the drought situation prevalent in the affected areas of Kenya. The drought situation has resulted in large turn outs of men, women and children at the Mosque for Iftar / Sehri.
Comment from one of the resident:
As the month of Ramadhan was approaching and things are getting difficult due to the drought, I did not know how I would provide my family with Iftar food to break their fast. I would like to thank the Mission for providing us with Iftar food enabling my family with a basic meal.”
Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya thank donors who have already made their generous contributions. Others can still do so and assist in providing provision for Iftar / Sehri at Masjids in the Rural Centres.
Your contribution counts…..IT makes a differenece!
