Mahe Ramadhan - Interim Report 1434 A.H / 2013

“Allah shall ward off 70 kinds of calamities from one who gives charity in the month of Ramadhan.”  -Imam sadiq (A.S)

Fasting is a universal custom practiced by Muslims worldwide in the Holy month of Ramadhan. It is essential for us to remember the less fortunate in the society as we prepare ourselves for

this holy month.

Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya, was able to distribute iftar /sehri to masjids, families in the rural and urban areas, inmates of Shimo la tewa Borstal/Prison and students in the boarding schools benefited from this distribution.

Ration provided was maize meal, wheat flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil, dates, yeast, beans and tea leaves.

Radio Broadcast including Ramadhan daily duas with translation in Kiswahili, lectures related to the spiritual, social and health benefits of fasting in the Holy month of Ramadhan, Live Broadcast and special five part series on Hidaya Ramadhan have been organized on various radio stations to reach out to the masses at large delivered by various speakers.

Various activities have been organized at the rural centres in this holy month. Programs included recitation and tafseer of Holy Quran and Dua Iftitah, daily after the maghribain prayers and iftar. Dua Tawassul and Dua Kumayl recited every Tuesday and Thursday. This year a Quran hifz competition has been organized for the Madarasah students.
