Bahati Rumba Nyamawi

Assalam alaykum. My names are Bahati Nyamawi Mwachiramba, I was born on 19th April 1984 at Mackinnon Road location, Kinango district in Coast province, Kenya. I am the first born from the second wife and have seven siblings: 4 girls and 3 boys.

In the year 1988 to 1990 I was at Jaffery Pre-Primary School for three years. In the year 1991 I entered class one at the Jaffery Primary School, at the same time I was also enrolled at Imam Jaffery Madrasah, Mackinnon Road.

I sat for my Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE) examinations in 2001 and I did pass well. I got an invitation letter from the best school in my district but due to very low income in my family, I had to attend a local school which was nearer and cheaper; that was from the year 2002.

Despite joining this local school – Samburu Secondary School – there was very little hope that I could eventually complete my O’ level studies due to poverty which was posing to be a great challenge and an obstacle in my pursuant of my education. In fact, I used to cook maandazi and samosa which I used to sell so that I could assist my parents in raising my fees.

In my second year things got worst and I was completely stuck since there was a huge balance of school fees which my parents could not afford to pay. I prayed to the Almighty God. Fortunately Allah answered my prayers for I sought assistance from Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya, and through their effort I got sponsorship from the Zainabiyya Child Sponsorship Scheme (ZCSS) of World Federation.

In 2005 I did my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and passed well.

I then decided to join Az - Zahra Madrasah at Amiirul Mu’minin, Matuga to get more religious education based on the madh-hab al haq, (Madh-hab Ahlul Bayt (a.s)) in the year 2006.

In my endeavours to seek more knowledge, I applied for Medical Engineering (Bio-medical Engineering) course. Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya again assisted me to get tuition fees and so I joined The Kenya Medical Training College – Kilifi Campus to pursue a certificate course in Medical Engineering which I began learning on 10th March 2007 and completed the same course on 24th April 2009.

Alhamdulillah, I am looking forward to start a good life. I still have got along way to go in my quest for knowledge and professional skills. I thank the ZCSS, BLESS and Bilal Muslim Mission Kenya for making sure that I had gotten the knowledge and skills that I now have; surely they have helped in giving me hope of living a successful life.

I pray to Allah (S.W.T) to highly reward all those who have contributed to my success. May Allah bless us all. Thank you
